I wrote a poem using the letters in my name!
HI my name is Iggy
I’m sitting in a tree
Gee I see the parkland
All around me
Gee I hear the birdies
Chirping oh so sweet
WhY don’t you climb up and
Sing along with me
If you write a poem using the letters in YOUR name, I’d love to read it!
Some people are like sunshine on a cloudy day…these people light up the room and ooze a feeling of safety and comfort. Ebonie K is one of those people and lucky for me, she’s my mom’s friend and mine too.
Like everyone else, Ebonie has struggles and sad moments and frustrations in her life. She has learned not to be afraid of these times but instead trust with all her heart, that she’s going to be ok.
Here are some of her wise words…
“Living with your heart as the leader and not your fear is the true way to happiness” ❤️
What is an inspirational quote ?
To better understand, let’s take a look at what both of these words mean.
First, here are some words that are similar to the word inspirational.
Motivating, energizing, uplifting, inspiring, encouraging, soul-stirring, thought-provoking, touching, empowering and refreshing
And here is a definition of the word quote, for our example today.
“A quotation, statement attributed to someone else.”
(As always, thank you www.wordhippo.com for your help)
And now, let’s put it all together.
“Inspirational quotes inspire and motivate us to make better decisions in life…”
“making you feel full of hope or encouraged.”

“Quotes are priceless sources of wisdom and guidance when most needed….”

My friend Ashley wrote this quote and I love it!
“Things will brighten up, sometimes you just have to change the lightbulb”
This is what this quote means to me…
If you look at things in a different way, or see them in ‘another light’, these things might be easier to understand.
What at first looked like a problem, might now look like an opportunity instead!
Do you have a special quote that motivates/encourages you?
Please send me a note with that quote…also, I’d love to know why the words have meaning for you.
Perhaps you’ll want to write a quote of your own! You’re welcome to send it along here too.
And if you’d like to share your thoughts on Miss Ashley’s quote, please reach out!

I made up some words for my kitty cat Meow Meow.
Can you guess what the ‘real word' is from the clues?

2. Beastro
This is the place where Meow Meow has his water bowl and kibble dish.
3. Haute Cature
Meow Meow likes to dress in fancy kitty clothes.
4. Parkitty
Meow Meow runs, jumps and climbs from one place to another!

3. Haute Couture: designer fashion, high style, exclusive fashion
4. Parkour: running, vaulting, climbing from one place to another
If you make up some words for your pet, I’d love to know what they are!
I like this sentence, written by Sadhguru.
“Today, wherever I go, I will create a peaceful, loving and joyful world”
And this one, written by LR Knost.
“Of course you can change the world. That’s why you’re here”
Little by little
And day by day
With each passing moment
I’m making my way
I’m learning and trying I’m doing my best
No need to compare Myself to the rest
I’m living my journey With each passing day
And little by little
I’m making my way

Feeding the cat his kibble...pouring from the very full kibble container!
One kibble nibble
Two kibble nibbles
Fell on the floor
Three kibble nibbles
Four kibble nibbles
There go some more!
Five kibble nibbles
Six kibble nibbles
Where did these go?
Seven kibble nibbles
Eight kibble nibbles
Bounced off my toe
Nine kibble nibbles
Ten kibble nibbles
All missed the bowl
But I tried my best
That’s always my goal

Diaper changes or getting cleaned up after getting messy can be a little difficult sometimes. This is a poem my mom wrote that made it a bit more fun for everybody. She would touch the parts of my body when she said the words. She always made me laugh when she tickled my thighs!
(Bonus: I learned more about me and my body parts)
I love your fingers
I love your toes
I love your ears
and I love your nose I love your cheeks and I love your eyes But most of all Iggy I love your thighs!

I wrote this poem for my kitty, Meow Meow.
Good morning……Good morning
Good morning to you
Good morning……Good morning
And how do you do
The birdies are singing
They welcome the dawn
Let’s rise up and listen
To their morning song
Stretch out your body….. Prepare it for play
And all of the sweet things….. You’ll do on this day
Good morning……Good morning
Good morning to you
Good morning…….Good morning
And how do you do

A feelings poem
By Iggy T. Hippo
Feel your feels
be brave and be strong
Turn them into a feeling song
Where notes and harmonies all come to play
Feel your feels
Sing them today
Feel your feels
Breathe and believe
That feelings are roadways
By which you achieve
Understanding and knowledge of who you are
Feel your feels
And you’ll go far
Feel your feels
The highs and the lows
Welcome them all as gifts with bows
All things pass in time they say
Feel your feels
And you’ll find your way
Things To Think About
If you failed at something, it means you tried something....that's awesome!
Do one thing every day that makes you happy.
It takes courage to choose hope over fear.

We are made of stardust!
That’s how we came to be
The universe is within us
And in all things that we see
It’s in worms, and in snakes, in slugs and in dogs
And in lions and in tigers and in emus and in frogs
It’s in trees and in grass and in chickens and in cats
And in horses and in hippos and in mice and in bats
You’ll find some in the mountains and in sheep and in fleas
And in crickets and in fishies and in birdies and in bees
You’ll find some in the cars and in houses and in trains
And in chipmunks and in squirrels and in boats and in planes
There’s stardust in the pavement and there’s stardust in the sand
And in the drums and instruments of musicians in the band
There’s stardust in your cradle, in your crib and in your bed
There’s stardust in all places
Where you like to rest your head
We are made of stardust!
Like the stars that shine at night
We are great and we are mighty
We are beautiful, we are light.
For my friend Fernanda Pires
You and me together
You and me together
It’s so sweet and so fine
You and me together
I am yours and you are mine
Whenever we’re together
All my worries disappear
Whenever we’re together
I feel brave, and have no fear
I love when we’re together
No matter what we do
You’re awesome and so special
Oh my darling! I love you!

A short biography of me written by my big brother Matt when he was a kid. (Now he’s a man!)
Hey! Did you ever hear the nursery rhyme about the 5 little piggies?
It’s been around for a long time! This is how it goes…
This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none,
This little piggy cried "Wee! Wee! Wee!" all the way home
It’s an action poem…
You start with the big toe and make your way to the littlest toe and finish by tickling the bottom of the foot.
(It works on a hand too!)
Here's some history on the poem (Wikipedia)
In 1728, the first line of the rhyme appeared in a medley called "The Nurses Song". The first known full version was recorded in The Famous Tommy Thumb's Little Story-Book, published in London about 1760. In this book, the rhyme goes…
This pig went to market,
That pig stayed home;
This pig had roast meat,
That pig had none;
This pig went to the barn's door,
And cried week, week for more.
The full rhyme continued to appear, with slight variations, in many late 18th- and early 19th-century collections. Until the mid-20th century, the lines referred to "little pigs".
It was the 8th most popular nursery rhyme in a 2009 survey in the United Kingdom.
The rhyme was included in Beatrix Potter's illustrated book Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes in 1922. The only known full set of her four original watercolour illustrations of the rhyme sold for £60,000 in 2012.
I’ve written my own version!
This little hippo went to playgroup
This little hippo stayed home
This little hippo had ice cream
This little hippo had gum
This little hippo said “have a nice day” all around the town
Maybe you want to write your version using the word human or your own name instead of piggy or hippo 😀
If you do, I’d love to read it!
Here’s an idea (and a challenge!)

Idioms
My mom and I were at the television studio for an interview, when one of the producers said, “Hey Iggy! Break a leg!. He smiled when he said it and I thought that’s weird! Why would he want me to break a leg?
When we got home, I Googled ‘Break a leg’ and this is what I discovered. The producer was using an idiom!
Idioms are a phrase that actually means something different from its literal meaning. For example, it's raining cats and dogs is an idiom. However, it does not mean cats and dogs are falling from the sky. Instead, it means it is raining very hard.
