Stuff To Do
Print this sheet, cut out each activity and place it in a container. You can certainly add your own favourite things to do in the mix.
Then get together with a grownup or a friend or sometimes just hang out with yourself and enjoy doing these things.

Big Word Challenge
Challenge yourself by learning how to spell and pronounce a really long word!
Here is the one that I’m working on right now.
● Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is one of the longest words in the dictionary — and, in an ironic twist, is the name for a fear of long words. 😀
Can you guess why I chose this one?
*type in “long words” into Google and a huge list will appear!
Good luck!!!
Check out this song!
300 people from 15 different countries came together to participate in a virtual rendition of the beautiful song "You'll Never Walk Alone"
The license plate game!
This is a game that I like to play when traveling from here to there in a vehicle.
You can play it by yourself or with someone else and have a contest to see who spots the most plates in a set amount of time.
(the plates from your own province don’t count!)
This is how you play:
Pay attention to the license plates on cars and trucks.
The license plates will tell you where the vehicle is registered (province, territory or state )
If you have a notebook and pencil, you can keep track by writing them down.
You’ll be amazed at how many different license plates you’ll see!
Mirror Writing
Mirror-writing is the production of letters, words or sentences in the reverse direction so that they look normal when viewed in a mirror
This project took some time but was it ever worth it!
This is what I wrote…
My name is Iggy and I am a house hippo.
My favorite color is gray.
Meow Meow is my cat and Elsie is my sister.
This is a photo of it in the reverse direction!
Write a letter to the animals at the pet store and shelter!
I really like it when someone sends me a little note in the mail. It means that they are thinking about me, and that makes me feel special.
I think that the animals at the pet store and shelter might feel the same way…
Of course a human will need to read the note to them, but something tells me that the animals will feel the love that you are sending them in your words on the page…
“Dear animals,
My name is Iggy and I’m a house hippo.
I can imagine that you dream of the day when you will be adopted into a really nice home so that you can cuddle and snuggle and play and run around and explore new places.
I know that dreams like this can come true because I was adopted by a kind and loving family.
I know it’s hard to wait, but never ever give up believing that your dream will come true.
With love,
Iggy

Take a walk in your neighborhood….
What you need:
A pencil and writing book
Sidewalk chalk 😀
I’m sure that you take a walk in your neighborhood all the time but here’s the twist….
Make believe you’re exploring it for the first time, and like an explorer of a new land, write down what you see. And maybe make a map!
Notice (and take notes) of the green space, the trees and the grass and the flowers.
Notice the buildings and the houses and the parks.
Pay attention to the streets and the stop signs and the traffic lights.
Is there a sidewalk? ( bring chalk and create some art! )
Are there fences? Are there hedges? Are there flower or vegetable gardens?
Is there a park with swings and a slide?
Do you see birdies and squirrels and chipmunks?
Are there big superstores or smaller shops?
Is there a library or splash park?
Are there grassy hills to climb that might be great hills for sliding on when the snow falls?
If you do this each season, you’ll see so many changes in nature!
Have fun, be safe and explore!
