Iggy interviews a Registered Nurse
Today I got to interview Angelique.
As a Registered Nurse, Angelique is trained to care for the sick.
Her name suits her perfectly.
Angelique is truly kind and caring, wonderfully warm and just so sweet. She is very smart and funny too. I really enjoyed our time together…
Hi Angelique!
Thanks so much for agreeing to be interviewed today!
Where were you born?
I was born in Vancouver, BC
Do you have any siblings?
I have one brother, Anthony, he’s only two years older than me so we’re pretty close!
What special memory do you have as a kid growing up?
Some of my favorite memories as a kid were when I got the chance to travel with my family. We were lucky enough to go to places like France, Spain, Italy, Hawaii and even Coasta Rica. From road trips to taking the plane, we always had the best time!
Do you have any hobbies?
When I’m at home, I like to crochet, read historical fiction books and bake sweets!
What’s a dream that you hope will come true?
I would love to visit every continent in the world!
If you could trade places with someone for a day, (past or present), who would that person be?
I would trade places with Vanna White from Wheel of Fortune
Do you have a favorite color?
Yes, my favorite colour is definitely pink!
What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor?
This is the toughest questions! It would probably be chocolate with raspberry or peanut butter or something special in it!
Do you have any stuffies?
I have a small pink teddy bear named Mingo
What do you like to daydream about?
I like to day dream about exciting places to go and fun things to see.
What’s a special movie or song that makes you feel happy?
My favorite song is Vienna by Billy Joel, it’s not an upbeat song necessarily but it makes me happy all the same.
What do you do to relax?
I like to make myself a cup of tea and read a book.
What do you do to exercise your body?
I go on long walks, by the canal or the river or sometimes through the city.
Did you know that you wanted to be a nurse when you were a kid?
No, I wanted to be in fashion business, with the goal of owning Macy’s
Was there a teacher or some other person in your life who encouraged you to study nursing?
I got pretty sick as a kid, and it was the nurses that took care of me that made me realize that I’d like to be a nurse.
What five (5) qualities do you have that make this a good career choice for you?
I’m positive and enthusiastic, I’m a quick learner, I like helping people, I’m patient and I’m caring.
What are some of your daily responsibilities as a Registered Nurse in your department?
We take care of our assigned patients, that means that we give them their medications, help them out of bed and to walk around, we clean and wash them and sometimes we do tests on them, like bloodwork.
What’s the best thing about your job?
It’s being able to help someone get better so they can go home to the people they love.
What do you find most challenging?
There are a lot of grim and sad things in a hospital, and often you’re seeing your patients when they’re at their worst. This can be difficult at times.
What advice would you give a kid if they wanted to be a Registered Nurse when they grew up?
Study hard in class since you’re not studying to pass a test, you’re studying to help save someone’s life one day.
Thanks so much for spending this time with me, Angelique. I really enjoyed it!
❤️🦛
