Iggy interviews a Family Doctor
Dr. Wendy is a family doctor.
That means that she is a medical doctor who is trained to provide primary healthcare to patients of either sex and any age.
Primary health care means healthcare at a basic rather than specialized level for people making an initial approach to a doctor or nurse for treatment.

Where were you born?
I was born in Quebec City
What’s a favorite memory you have as a kid growing up?
Every summer we went to Maine and spent two weeks by the beach- I remember it fondly.
Did you have any pets? Do you have any today?
I grew up with cats and dogs. I have cats now and volunteer at the Humane Society.
When did you know you wanted to be a doctor?
I didn’t know I wanted to be a doctor until I was in university.
Where did you go to school to learn to become a doctor?
I went to medical school in Toronto.
What do you like best about your job?
My patients!
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to exercise and spend time outside and visit with family and friends.
Who is your favorite singer and what’s your favorite song?
Not sure I have a favorite - I listen to all kinds of music.
If I could grant you a wish, what would it be?
World peace.
What do you like best about yourself?
I try to find the positive in every situation even though it is difficult sometimes.
What do you struggle with sometimes?
Getting everything done in a day!
If you weren’t a doctor, what job would you want to have?
A veterinarian.
What’s your favorite meal?
I like Italian food best.
What advice would you give a kid if they wanted to become a family doctor?
Work hard and stay positive!
