Iggy Interviews A Marketing Expert

Today I got to interview John. He is the proprietor (owner) of Star Marketing Group. John has helped me and my mom develop and grow our business because he is an expert in marketing. 

Hi John! 

Thanks so much for agreeing to be interviewed today!

Where were you born? 

Ottawa, Canada

What’s a fun fact about the place where you grew up?

The street names in our area near Dow’s Lake were mostly native Indian names- Kippewa

Opeongo, Madawaska,etc.

What’s a special memory you have as a kid?

Going on a ferris wheel ride with my father at Super Ex and it broke down while we were at the top of the wheel. It took over an hour for us to get down from the ride. A little scary.

I’ve been afraid of heights ever since.

What was your favorite subject in grade school?

Spanish classes

Do you have any hobbies?

Painting

Describe a great day…what are you doing?

Golfing with friends

Where would you like to travel and why?

I love cruising in the Caribbean

What’s your favorite type of pizza?

Canadian

If you were a teacher and could teach your students anything at all, what would you teach them?

How to use common sense 

What 3 words do you think describe you most?

Loyal, kind, persistent

How would you describe your job as a marketing expert?

Enjoyable but very challenging. There’s something new to learn every day

What do you like most about your job?

Getting to meet clients like your mom and helping them create a greater awareness of their product or service.

You have helped me and my mom grow our business by designing/printing business cards and banners. What are some other ways/examples of how you have helped businesses grow?

By creating awareness/marketing campaigns 

What advice would you give a kid if they were interested in a career as a marketing expert?

Do as much reading on the subject as you can before getting into the marketing field. Things are changing constantly and it’s important to know about changing media platforms etc.
